Digital Bangladesh মানে কী

 ইংরেজি Digit থেকে Digital শব্দটির উৎপত্তি। Digit হচ্ছে noun আর Digital হচ্ছে verb. Digit অর্থ সংখ্যা  এবং Digital অর্থ আঙুল দিয়ে গণনা করা। মূলত Digital এর অর্থ গণনা করা  হলেও "ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ " মানে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি নির্ভর বাংলাদেশ  যা আঙুল  দিয়ে সংখ্যা গণনা করার মতই সহজ তাই অনেক সময় ডিজিটাল এর রুপক অর্থে  ব্যবহার করা হয়। ভিশন _২০২১ এর প্রণেতাদের  একজন, আবুল মাল আব্দুল মুহিত, এর ব্যাখ্যা দিয়ে  বলেছেন,  ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ  মানে হচ্ছে  এমন এক  ব্যববস্থা  যেখানে  সুশাসন  থাকবে, সরকারের কার্যক্রমে দায়বদ্ধতা- স্বচ্ছতা  থাকবে, দুর্নীতি কমে যাবে। তিনি বলেন, "এ লক্ষ্য  বাস্তবায়নের জন্য তারা তথ্য প্রযুক্তির শক্তিকে ব্যবহার করতে চান।" আবার এভাবে বলা যায় পূর্বের কোনো  অবস্থার  তুলনায় দ্রুত, স্বচ্ছ এক কথায় আপগ্রেডেড থাকাকে বুঝায়।
